“Induction and Refresher Training for Trustees”
This short, introductory course is a great start for anyone joining a board for the first time (or needing a refresher). We’ll help you to understand the role of a trustee or committee member a bit better, so you know what you should and shouldn’t do, how you need to behave and what you need to do to be effective.
£15 per person (£20 for non-members).
(Young people aged 18-25 are free if connected to a VANEL Member organisation).

VANEL’s Volunteer Centre Service facilitates quarterly Volunteer Managers Network events which are open to anyone (paid or unpaid) who is responsible for recruiting and supporting volunteers in North and North East Lincolnshire.
The aim of the meetings is to support volunteer managers so they can provide the best possible volunteering experience to everyone. The group provides peer support, discussion related to volunteer management issues, speakers and provision of good practice information and an opportunity for all to share news, discuss problems and contribute towards local, regional and national developments in volunteering.

On Monday 26th March there will be a “GDPR basics – getting yourself ready” workshop at VANEL offices.
From 2pm-4pm this will be an introductory workshop trying to clear through the jargon and complexities and put GDPR into practical terms that you can take away and use.
There’s already no shortage of information and guidance on GDPR. You can get to lots of that via my article here. There’s nothing stopping you reading it all and getting your own plan together (indeed you probably should start looking at it all). But two (many?) heads are better than one. So I hope by coming together in this workshop I can summarise all this information, clarify practical issues, give examples and templates and allow discussion around our real life examples and how we might solve them (before May).
