Bright Blue Monday – Forget Blue, let’s make it a Bright Blue Monday @ Moon on the Water
Jan 21 @ 10:00 am – 6:30 pm

A whole host of local groups are uniting at Cleethorpes’ popular North Prom venue Moon on the Water to make sure they enjoy a ‘Blue Monday’ with a difference.

The third Monday in January has become known across the UK as the nation’s ‘blue’ day – the most depressing day of the year. But this will not be the case in Cleethorpes in 2019.

The day-long Bright Blue Monday event takes place from 10.30am to 6.30pm on 21st January, with something for everyone – snacks, refreshments, music and displays. Volunteers from activity groups will also be on hand – from singing and dancing, to craft and environmental organisations.

Organised on behalf of the Gardiner Hill Foundation charity as part of its Awards for All-funded ‘Only the Lonely’ campaign; it is supported by the Humberside Youth Association, NAViGO and its community groups, VANEL, the Blue Lights Brigade; Moon on the Water; and the Grimsby Telegraph Young Reporters.

“Although anyone is welcome at any time, there will be so much going on that we did think it would be a great idea to structure the day a little, so there was a chance to meet like-minded people,” explained Warren Jolly, the owner of Moon on the Water.

So during the morning there will be activities including dancing and crafts, whilst during the afternoon there will be activities that parents might find their young children might enjoy. After school hours there are some young people performing along with some activities that younger adults may like to get involved with.  But throughout the day there will be some complimentary tasters of food prepared by the Moon on the Water.  We’d love to see anyone come along at any time.

A full timetable will be issued in the new year, so keeping looking out for more details. However, if you would like to get involved please email jenny@vanel.org.uk
