The Big Local team meet every Wednesday morning from 9:30 -12:30 at the Big Local Community Building at 82 Grimsby Road to discuss how Big Local funding could be spent for the benefit of people living in North Cleethorpes. Members of the public, charities and organisations living or based in North Cleethorpes are welcome to attend and encouraged to share their views.

Wednesday afternoon sees IGNITE team manager deliver a workshop on Event Organisation. Within this workshop, you will be shown how to successfully plan, manage and deliver an event. From advice on funding to networking through to the legalities and licences you may need, this course is a must for anyone planning an event!

Money Matters, is an all-day course which will see individuals work through four modules. Modules include; “You and Your Money”, “Surviving till Payday”, “Independence Day” and “Your Money Talks”.

During the day, you will look closely at payslips, tax codes, bank statements and budgeting. This is a must for individuals moving out of the family home for the first time whether to enter student accommodation or to venture out on your own or with your partner.
This course is delivered in partnership with UK Youth.

Friday 16th February sees the end of a week long workshop extravaganza from IGNITE with the second, more advanced, communication workshop. (follows the Beginners session here). In this session, individuals will receive a better understanding of interpretation and the importance of conversing with individuals through a number of learning styles. The workshop will also take a more in-depth look into the laws surrounding copyright and plagiarism as well as methods for getting the most out of limited word/character counts.

“Induction and Refresher Training for Trustees”
This short, introductory course is a great start for anyone joining a board for the first time (or needing a refresher).  We’ll help you to understand the role of a trustee or committee member a bit better, so you know what you should and shouldn’t do, how you need to behave and what you need to do to be effective.

£15 per person (£20 for non-members).
(Young people aged 18-25 are free if connected to a VANEL Member organisation).
Bespoke version of this course can be run for your whole board/committee as a 2 hour, 0.5 day or full day course going into as much detail as you might need.  Contact us to discuss details and pricing.

VANEL’s Volunteer Centre Service facilitates quarterly Volunteer Managers Network events which are open to anyone (paid or unpaid) who is responsible for recruiting and supporting volunteers in North and North East Lincolnshire.

The aim of the meetings is to support volunteer managers so they can provide the best possible volunteering experience to everyone. The group provides peer support, discussion related to volunteer management issues, speakers and provision of good practice information and an opportunity for all to share news, discuss problems and contribute towards local, regional and national developments in volunteering.
