Key Change information:
1. GSMG YOUR LIFE, YOUR FUTURE CAMPAIGN
The GSMG Your Life, Your Future campaign launched on Tuesday 17 January in paper which the Change programme is a main sponsor of. The campaign will run for a six month period and aims to help residents and businesses to access work and training and create more jobs in North East Lincolnshire.
2. CHANGING LIVES PR
The Grimsby Telegraph featured a recent press release (which is not part of the above campaign) re how the Change programme has helped over 570 people into work and they also included a Building Skills for Life press release and highlighted one of the individuals this specific project helped.
Viking FM also picked up this press release and have recorded a feature speaking to Cllr Shaw and one of the Key Worker clients now in employment, this was due to be aired on Wednesday, January 18 but was pushed back and should now be aired on Monday, January 23.
3. CHANGEWORKS UPDATE
The Changeworks scheme is doing well creating job opportunities in the area, please see below update on the scheme:
Total applications received: 88
Total applications approved: 66
Total applications withdrawn/declined: 19
Pending applications: 3
Total employees started: 36.
During the past week we have spoken with Nottingham City Council who are now running a similar wage subsidy scheme re how they are managing and implementing their project. We also have an internal meeting to review our wage subsidy scheme so far.
4. APPRENTICESHIP GRANT SCHEME UPDATE
124 of the apprenticeship places have now been allocated, and there are now 15 training providers signed up to the scheme. We have given one of the training providers five more places on top of their initial allocation.
24 jobs have been approved and 13 people have started their new jobs.
5. KEYWORKER EVALUATION
As you are aware the Keyworker project evaluation has now taken place, the results of the evaluation will be presented to you at the Change board meeting next week.
6. JCP EVENT
The Change programme attended the JCP event that was held on Thursday, this went well as we met a number of potential new clients and referrals on the day as well as speaking to a few local employers.
