Follow up to Network meeting 12 April

The quarterly meeting of the IT Supporters Network took place at Grimsby Neighbourhood Centre on 12 April.

Our first session was a review of the current and future initiatives from the IT Supporters Network and a useful discussion helped form the direction for the Network over the coming months.  I’ll post more here with details of new initiatives as they emerge.

Our main focus of the meeting was “Social Media for Social Change”.

Social Media is a ‘hot topic’ and a few local Voluntary and Community Groups are hopping on board the bandwagon.  But there’s still lots to learn for groups about this new set of tools, and our meeting spent quite a while reviewing why organisations should be getting into Social Media in the first place.  In essense this is just a new set of tools – it’s what effect and impact our organisations have in the real world using them that is the most critical.

Read on for more information from the event and keep an eye on this blog for more about Social Media activities soon.

The presentation from the meeting can be viewed online here.
