Beach Hut No.9

Beach Hut No.9 on Marine Embankment in Cleethorpes is leased by Capacity Buildings Ltd and through partnership working, with funding from supporters and with a lot of volunteer help, the dilapidated Beach Chalet was brought back into use in 2016. With initial funding from the Tribune Trust, with support from Voluntary Action North East Lincolnshire (VANEL) and North East Lincolnshire Council’s Safer Communities Team, Beach Hut No.9 officially opened its doors on 16th September 2016. Since then the Beach Hut has seen a lot of change and a lot of community activity. The information pages for Beach Hut No.9 were hosted for a while within the VANEL website, but have now been fully moved over to this Capacity Buildings website.  See here for the overview of the Beach Hut. Since before the project began news about the Beach Hut was being shared by our partner VANEL on their website and in their newsletter. You can read all these news stories and continue to follow developments on their website here. Latest information: Beach Hut No 9 has launched a community fundraising Calendar for 2018. Produced in partnership with the Safer Communities Team and VANEL and with funding from a Heritage Lottery funded “Bygone Beachcombers” project, the profits from the sales of the calendar will go to RNLI Cleethorpes.  Find out about the Calendar and where to buy it here. Santa’s Seaside Grotto will be held at the Beach Hut on 16th December 2017. As a recipient of Heritage Lottery funds during 2017 (the Bygone Beachcombers project), the Beach Hut is opening its doors as part of a Heritage Lottery led nationwide programme.  Read more about Santa visiting the Beach Hut here.
